Holy Trinity School Admissions Requirements
Richmond Hill, Ontario
Entry Requirements by Grade
Holy Trinity School, commonly known as HTS, accepts applications from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. Its admissions process is organized by division rather than around a fixed published list of major entry years.
| Entry Level | Assessment / Visit | Other Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| JK and Grade 1 | Discovery Visit with play-based literacy, numeracy, fine-motor and gross-motor activities | Admissions interview |
| Grades 2 to 5 | Day visit for shortlisted candidates | Interview |
| Grade 6 | No separate academic entrance test publicly listed | Admissions interview |
| Grades 7 and 8 | No separate academic entrance test publicly listed | Shortlisted candidates invited to interview |
| Grade 9 | No separate academic entrance test publicly listed | Admissions interview |
| Grades 10 to 12 | No separate academic entrance test publicly listed | Shortlisted candidates invited to interview |
Entrance Assessment
For JK and Grade 1, applicants participate in a Discovery Visit featuring play-based activities that allow HTS to assess literacy, numeracy, fine-motor skills and gross-motor skills.
HTS's current public admissions pages for Middle and Senior School do not list a separate standardized or school-created academic entrance test. Instead, the published process emphasizes school records, a teacher recommendation and the admissions interview.
Admissions Process
Applicants submit an online application and supporting materials including:
applicant photo;
passport or birth certificate;
previous and current school reports; and
a teacher recommendation completed by a current teacher.
Interview requirements depend on grade. Current HTS admissions materials have Grade 6 and Grade 9 applicants schedule interviews, while applicants to Grades 7 and 8 and Grades 10 to 12 are shortlisted before an interview invitation because of more limited availability.
Key Insights
HTS does not publicly list a traditional academic entrance exam for Middle or Senior School applicants. The publicly described process focuses primarily on academic records, teacher feedback and interviews.
Younger applicants are assessed differently. JK and Grade 1 use an observation-style Discovery Visit rather than a conventional written test.
Teacher feedback is part of the application across divisions. HTS requires a teacher recommendation as part of its admissions checklist.
