Entry Requirements by Grade
St. George's School admits day students from Kindergarten through Grade 11, with availability varying considerably by grade. Its current admissions process uses dedicated group assessments for Kindergarten and Grades 4, 6, 7 and 8, while Grades 9 through 11 follow a different testing process. Grade 8 is the beginning of Senior School and is a significant intake point.

Entrance Assessment
St. George's uses a two-phase admissions process for its major intake points.
In the first phase, applicants submit their application, academic report cards and a character reference and participate in an in-house group assessment.
Applicants are then shortlisted based on their application materials and group-assessment results.
Testing requirements vary by grade:
Grade 4: shortlisted applicants complete an in-house academic assessment.
Grades 6 to 8: shortlisted applicants complete the Middle Level SSAT.
Grades 9 to 11: applicants must submit SSAT results.
The school's public admissions page does not publish a detailed syllabus for its Grade 4 in-house academic assessment or its group assessment.
Admissions Process
Applicants submit:
an online application;
academic report cards;
a character reference form; and
any other specifically requested documentation.
St. George's states that its preferred character referee is a current or previous classroom teacher. A coach, youth leader or club leader may also be appropriate.
For Grades 4, 6, 7 and 8, applicants participate in an in-house group assessment before shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates are then invited to complete the appropriate standardized or school-based test and attend a student and parent interview.
Grades 9 through 11 follow a somewhat different process, with SSAT results included as part of the required application materials before shortlisted candidates proceed to interviews.
